Description Job Summary: The Project Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the financial and schedule controls of assigned projects to ensure accurate forecasting, cost management, and timely delivery. This role partners closely with Project Managers and Operations leadership to provide clear visibility into project performance, risks, schedule and financial outcomes from project initiation through close-out. Job Responsibilities: Develop, monitor and manage the cost-loaded Project Baseline Schedule. Partner with the Finance team for project financial controls, including budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, and revenue recognition. Establish and maintain project control structures (cost codes, WBS, billing milestones, and reporting frameworks) Prepare and analyze cost-to-complete (CTC), earned value, cash flow, and margin forecasts Partner with Project Managers to proactively identify financial and schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies Review and approve project cost transactions, accruals, and commitments for accuracy and compliance in partnership with the Finance team. Develop and track project schedules and budgets Oversee customer billings, progress claims, retainage, and change order financial impacts Support schedule integration with financial forecasting in collaboration with Project Schedulers Work closely with project teams to develop and provide real-time data on work being accomplished and costs compared to the plan Prepare monthly project reviews, executive dashboards, project financial metrics, and variance analyses in addition to weekly reviews. Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and accounting standards (ASC 606, percentage-of-completion) Support audits, claims, and dispute resolution by providing detailed financial and schedule documentation Lead project close-out activities, including final cost reconciliation and lessons learned Identify trends and take actions to address cost or schedule risks early Other duties as assigned Requirements Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of project controls, project accounting, or project finance experience in EPC, construction, or infrastructure environments Strong understanding of job cost accounting, forecasting, and project lifecycle management Experience working with project management and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Viewpoint, Deltek, Procore Financials) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience developing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules (preferred) Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement lead times, and commissioning activities Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting renewable energy, utility-scale, or heavy civil projects Familiarity with Primavera P6 and schedule-driven forecasting Knowledge of EPC contract structures (lump sum, cost-plus, T&M) Experience with Power BI or financial reporting dashboards CPA, CMA, or PMP certification (preferred, not required) Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Onsite in office Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs May require overtime, nights, or weekends based on project needs Location: Location specific FLSA Status: Exempt Employment Type: Full-time TAKKION is an Equal Opportunity Employer
