Job Description We’re looking for a highly organised and commercially minded Project Controls Coordinator to join our Energy team based in AECOM’s Melbourne office. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role supporting a large portfolio of projects across project controls, commercial operations, project finance, and project delivery support. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Finance, and operational leaders to help drive commercial performance, project governance, and operational excellence. You’ll become a key commercial and operational support partner — helping teams stay on track, proactively identifying risks, supporting billing and invoicing activities, monitoring project performance, and ensuring projects are set up for success from day one. How you will make a difference: Support project setup, project controls, and project finance activities Partner closely with Project Managers across a large and diverse project portfolio Assist with commercial reviews, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting Support month-end processes, billing, invoicing, and financial governance Monitor project performance, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio Assist with bids and proposals, providing commercial sense-checking and support Help maintain compliance, documentation, and governance standards throughout the project lifecycle Liaise with offshore project controls support teams, including Manila-based resources Contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives Build strong relationships across project, finance, and operational teams Qualifications This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants exposure to complex, high-visibility projects within a globally recognised business. The qualities that help you thrive: Relevant degree in Business, Commerce, Project Management, or related discipline 3+ years’ experience in project controls, project coordination, business analyst or similar role, preferably in a related industry such as Engineering Consulting or Construction Services. Experience in project controls, project finance, project accounting, commercial support, or project coordination.
