Description The Project Controls Engineer (PCE) supports project execution by tracking cost, schedule, productivity, and field reporting accuracy. This role ensures earned value, labor efficiency, and cash flow trends are accurately reported to support project decision-making and stakeholder communication Requirements Key Responsibilities: Manage daily and weekly field reporting and verify reported production against actual progress Issue earned credit and validate production quantities Maintain job cost records (labor, materials, equipment) and monitor labor efficiency Track performance metrics, including Productivity Index (PI), CPI, SPI, and cash flow curves Coordinate with schedulers to track progress, update schedules, and identify potential delays Prepare cost, schedule, and productivity reports for p roject leadership and stakeholders Support forecasting, variance analysis, change orders, RFIs, and FCO cost updates Ensure compliance with company and client reporting standards and maintain audit documentation Serve as a liaison between field teams, project management, and cost controls Field Presence & Physical Requirements Maintain a strong on-site presence, including daily jobsite walks to verify reported production Validate progress aligns with field conditions, constructability, and project forecasts Ability to work extended hours outdoors in varying weather and construction environments Education, Experience & Skill Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred PMI certifications (PMP, CAPM) or Earned Value Management (EVM) certification a plus Experience in project controls, cost management, and scheduling Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required) and SharePoint Power BI experience preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Palacios Marine & Industrial is an equal opportunity employer prohibiting discrimination and harassment based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by law.
