THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Project Control Specialist is responsible for managing project controls deliverables, providing leadership, guidance, and training to a team of project controls professionals, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget by overseeing cost control, scheduling, risk management, and reporting. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders. As a member of the Environmental & Infrastructure group, you will be given opportunities to apply your education and experience on complex projects. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a very high quality deliverables.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Project Controls Manager, Project Manager, and Project Director.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams of Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Planners, Designers and Contract Administrators, Sub-Consultants, and other staff as required.
  • Implement and execute project controls plans to support contractual requirements on a portfolio of various sized projects.
  • Participating in interactive planning sessions.
  • Lead development of cost estimates, Work Breakdown Structures, Cost Breakdown Structures, and Baseline Schedules.
  • Implement and execute methods of effective progress measurement based on size and complexity of project.
  • Assess impacts for changes to baseline / estimates and new forecasted dates / performance.
  • Adjusting and reviewing schedules with project personnel and publishing baseline schedules.
  • Integrating risk management outputs in schedule review and mitigation planning.
  • Resource load scheduling.
  • Identifying trends or scope changes and advise the PE’s and project controls.
  • Cost reporting, earned value, change management and estimating.
  • Cash flow development and reporting.
  • Providing budget development support.
  • Manage the financial health of the project, including variance reporting for both schedule and cost;
  • Performing ad-hoc project analysis and support.
  • Liaising between client management team and engineering.
  • Managing the performance of the team, including mentoring and coaching direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
