ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER

  • Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment or industry.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, including cost control, scheduling, risk management, and governance.
  • Experience with various contracting methodologies (e.g., FIDIC, NEC3, NEC4, JCT).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
Membership in a professional body (preferred).

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee scheduling, reporting, and cost control, while ensuring compliance with governance standards and communicating project requirements across the supply chain.

  • Establish and maintain PMO governance, processes, and controls across the project.
  • Develop and manage project baselines (scope, cost, and schedule), ensuring compliance with governance standards.
  • Lead scheduling and project controls staff, overseeing cost, risk, and change management.
  • Provide accurate management reporting to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring visibility of project status and forecasts.

THE ROLE

As a Project Controls Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will ensure effective planning, monitoring, and governance of key projects within our PP&E programme. You’ll be responsible for cost and schedule forecasting, risk management, and progress tracking, providing independent oversight to drive project success. You will work closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Controls Managers, and internal teams, you’ll lead PMO functions, ensuring projects remain on track and meet key objectives.

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee scheduling, reporting, and cost control, while ensuring compliance with governance standards and communicating project requirements across the supply chain.

This role is full time 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days working from home. It is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Bristol, Warrington, Leicester, or Newbury.
