Cord Is seeking a Project Controls Planner/Scheduler to work within our growing team.
Position Description: This position will be responsible for providing support and coordination on the creation/maintenance of the integrated project master schedule. The Planner/Scheduler will provide detailed time analysis to the Construction Management Team and Project Manager and will inform them of potential delays and/or opportunities in an expeditious fashion. Able to perform and excel in a fast-paced environment, willingness for site-based positions and, willingness to be flexible depending on departmental requirements e.g… accountability for multiple projects may be expected.
Work Conditions: This position will be based on remote project sites within the Alberta and British Columbia area, working project schedules (i.e.10/4, 14/7).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a heavy industrial engineering/construction environment.
  • Exposure to all disciplines including but not limited to;
  • Earthworks/Civil
  • Piping and Mechanical
  • Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls
  • Insulation
  • Engineering Degree or Certified Journeyperson of a relevant trade
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstratable experience with Primavera (P6) in an industrial setting, Proficient in development of Primavera (P6) scheduling and reporting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within Planning/Scheduling or Project Controls in an Industrial setting
  • Minimum of 5 years of Construction experience, or 10 years of Engineering office experience
  • Ability to read and understand relevant construction drawings
  • Ability to utilize 3D modelling software such as Navisworks
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in English, and excellent skills in communication and attaining information in a fast-paced environment.
  • General knowledge of IT programs used in estimating and project controls.
  • Thorough knowledge of cost and schedule principles in their application to projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure on complex issues across multiple projects.
  • Technical Diploma or Engineering degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain master schedules (Level 2,3,4 and 5) based on specific project requirements/needs based on inputs from multiple departments.
  • Populate schedules with budgeted labour units and quantities.
  • Work with key stakeholders to update the master schedule with forecast and actualized dates.
  • Provide feedback to key stakeholders as to the overall status of the project, inclusive but not limited to:
  • Critical Path Analysis
  • Manpower Forecasting/Histogram Preparation
  • Provide forecast to Project Controls for generation of reports
  • Provide information required for internal and external reporting
  • Perform progress validation walks of the various sites if requested to ensure the schedule is being met.
  • Create supplemental documentation to support the interpretation or evaluation of the master schedule, E.g.: Basis of Schedule, Critical Path Analysis
  • Coordinate with Change Coordinator on providing schedule impact for PVN/PCR and adding PVN/PCR activities with logics in the master schedule to reflect impact on project critical path
  • Organize required schedule review meetings involving General Foreman, Construction Managers or Project Managers
  • Knowledge on earning rules of credits, scorecard setup and its integration with regular schedule updates
  • Knowledge on schedule risk analysis process and the quality of schedule required for risk analysis and,
  • Generate three week lookahead schedule.
