Job Description
Are you ready to bring your digital expertise into the world of Project Controls? We’re looking for a Project Controls Specialist to join our Energy & Natural Resources team in Perth, supporting major clients across mining, infrastructure, and clean energy. This role blends traditional project controls with modern digital tools, offering the chance to work on high-impact projects while shaping the future of project delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Project Controls Delivery: Lead cost-focused project controls activities, ensuring accurate and timely outputs across a range of complex projects.
  • Digital Reporting: Design, develop, and support digital reporting solutions using tools like Power BI to deliver actionable insights.
  • Process Improvement: Analyst current workflows and recommend enhancements using data-driven insights and operational metrics.
  • System Design & Integration: Conduct IT architecture reviews and configure data flows to support project and portfolio reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external clients to ensure alignment and value delivery.
  • Project Systems: Operate within platforms such as CMS, EcoSys, Acconex, PRISM, and contribute to WBS development and earned value analysis.
  • Audit & Governance: Support project audits and reporting cycles, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who isn’t just experienced – they’re energised by the challenge of complex project environments and inspired by the potential of digital tools and data to drive smarter decisions. To be successful in your application, we’re looking for the following:

  • Location: Based in Perth.
  • Work Eligibility: Full current Australian working rights.
  • Relevant Background: Experience in project controls, ideally within a consultancy, and across sectors such as mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
  • Digital & Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Power BI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate). Keen interest in, or experience with, the rapidly-evolving world of AI would be beneficial.
  • Education & Systems Knowledge: A tertiary qualification in engineering, business, IT, data analytics, or commerce, with a strong interest in project management systems.
  • Communication & Documentation: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience drafting user guides and reporting documentation.
  • Mindset & Collaboration: Proactive, organised, and eager to learn from senior personnel; a friendly and approachable team player.
