Job Responsibilities: Working from our Tampa office as part of our Finance Department, will handle project controls in relation to a number of projects.   Focus on managing financial and operational aspects of projects, which can help department managers (DMs) in administrative tasks to ensure projects stay on track. Some of the key responsibilities might include, but are not limited to: * Facilitating project Contracts/Agreements review process by legal and obtaining executive management approval. * Review existing contracts and change orders for each project in coordination with the DMs and Vice President (VP) to ensure compliance and understand the terms and conditions, including budgets, payment schedules, deliverables, and any penalties. * Weekly tracking and reporting of project budget and cost, and monthly percentage completion (actual vs budget) to ensure budget alignment. This includes monitoring project expenses, forecasting, milestones, earned revenues, and addressing any discrepancies. * Identify project risks and work on mitigation options with the DMs, including the need for Change Orders or other strategies. * Work with the Department Managers (DMs) in setting up any new project (with obtaining subcontract agreements, COI etc.) into our financial ERP system “Deltek”. * Assist DMs in preparing project invoices and follow up with clients/vendors, including invoicing and Accounts Receivable (AR), DSO, and collections. * Project document control, including Certificates of Insurance (COI), subcontractor agreements, W-9, and others. * When needed, assist in allocating resources (personnel, equipment, etc.) efficiently, making sure projects stay on schedule and within budget. * Act as a project liaison between the DMs and VPs, managing communications and updates to the finance department. * Assist the DMs with administrative tasks, as needed.   Required Qualifications: * 5+ years project controls experience in engineering services company or closely related * Microsoft Excel proficiency  * Solid math skills * Ability to communicate with both internal staff and external clients professionally and promptly * Ability to work well independently and as part of a team * Strong organization skills and detail orientation   Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree * Deltek ERP experience * Experience with Earned Value and Project Productivity  * Project Management certification Benefits  * Choice of Two Medical Plans – 100% Employee Coverage  * HSA medical option – with Company contribution * Affordable Dental & Vision Plans – Keep that winning smile sharp * 401(k) with 3% Company Contribution – Future you says thanks * Short & Long-Term Disability (Company Paid) – Because life happens * Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Accident Plan- Pairs nicely with an HSA * $100,000 Life Insurance (Company Paid) – Your family’s safety net * Bonus Program – Great work deserves great rewards * Professional Development & Certifications – Always be leveling up * PTO + Paid Holidays – Rest hard, play hard About Us MC Squared is a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, and Pavement Design and Management with offices in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
