POSITION SUMMARY   This position is accountable for coordinating cost control / project scheduling efforts support to the project management teams to establish “best practices” project execution methods.  The incumbent will work closely with the Project Controls Manager, Division Manager, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members to ensure success in project scheduling and coordination.         The incumbent must support the guiding beliefs and core values of Orion, which are centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork most importantly, with each built upon the all-important foundation of Integrity.   SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES   * Reports directly to the Regional Project Controls Manager or Operations Leader providing technical project control support of all major and prospective projects.    * Learns Spitfire, Primavera, HeavyBid, InEight, and Pertmaster Risk Analysis software. * Understands and is familiar with the Company’s Project Controls and Estimating policies and procedures and help to implement, enforce, and answer questions regarding the policies to employees. * Provides Spitfire support to team members; assist in the development of power point presentations for specific tasks within Spitfire; and assist in training new employees. * Assists in formal training seminar on Primavera; learn the Company’s use of the software including revenue/cost loading, resource loading, importing /exporting for HeavyBid and weekly earned revenue analysis reports from Bid Doc; provide support to team members; and assist in training new employees. * Learns the HeavyBid and InEight software tutorials and assist in formal training seminar, assists the estimators within first year of employment with some estimates to gain practical knowledge of the software, and assists Project Managers with export from HeavyBid of awarded projects and import to the Spitfire Budgets. * Assists with Risk Analysis on estimates. * Performs a QA check on incoming monthly deliverables; provide support to project staff to complete the reports accurately, compiles the PSR books for distribution, and compiles Summary Reports and Variance Reports. * Gains practical knowledge of Company’s projects through site visits and be familiar with equipment and manpower that Company uses. * Updates Quarterly Staffing Plans as needed. * Reviews monthly equipment usage reports and provide feedback. * Possesses the qualifications and physical ability to drive regular passenger vehicles to visit work locations and job sites.       EMPLOYEE SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE   * Responsible and accountable for incumbent’s own personal safety. * Responsible and accountable for the safety of all co-workers and any others incumbent comes in contact with. * Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed. * Complies with all applicable laws, regulations and Company policies and procedures, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so. * Reports any and all violations of applicable laws, regulations or Company policies and procedures promptly, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so. * Performs other related administrative and technical duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision (such as certification training, safety training, procedure review, etc.). * All employees, current and former, must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing to others any confidential, proprietary or trade secret information belonging to the Company. A B.S. Degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred.  Proficient with Primavera / SureTrak preferred.         The incumbent must possess excellent computer skills; be capable of working on multiple projects and assignments; and have the ability to interface well with members of the project management team.      The Company expects and requires incumbent and each of its other employees to observe and fulfill the above and all other safety responsibilities and actively work toward maintaining a safe workplace.  Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.   PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS   The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.    The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.  This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.   The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.   In addition, the Project Controls Analyst must also be capable of:   * Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting onto and off of work barges, boats, vessels, or dock facilities of varying heights and access parameters. * Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting for long periods of time. * Adapting to extreme temperature changes. * Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure.
