Education (degree/diploma/certifications)

  • Three (3) year College Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology, Architectural or Engineering Sciences or a closely related discipline

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years of experience performing duties related to the above mentioned major responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in the contract administration of projects related to the construction of buildings and facilities

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY

  • Working knowledge of the following legislation, regulations, or requirements: Occupational Health and Safety Act; Ontario Building Code; Construction Act
  • Working knowledge of the following principles and standards: Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) contracts
  • Demonstrated Ability to:
  • communicate effectively in written and verbal form
  • maintain proper documentation and work records
  • coordinate simultaneous projects
  • build good working relationships with managers and staff, Contractors and the general public
  • read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Intermediate skills include: Interpersonal; Multitasking; Organizational; Public Relations; Time Management
  • Intermediate computer literacy using the following systems and software: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project), Adobe Acrobat
  • Availability to accommodate deadlines or peak period workloads that may extend beyond designated normal workday hours or normal hours per week
