JOB SUMMARY:
The project coordinator, under the direction of the Decision Support, Surveillance and Immunization (DSSI) Manager, Health Informatics, will lead key projects supporting Toronto Public Health’s (TPH) Strategic Plan. Projects include identifying options for TPH’s Senior Management Team to address current IT system challenges for communicable disease control case, contact, and outbreak management; and supporting the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at TPH in alignment with City policies and guidelines.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-Secondary diploma, certificate or degree in Project Management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience pertinent to the job function.

Considerable experience leading projects involving complex health information systems, with advanced technological fluency and a strong understanding of current and emerging digital health solutions.

Considerable experience coordinating, supporting and facilitating small- and large-scale strategic projects, applying project management principles, practices and methodologies including the definition of project purpose and objective, project activities, milestones and deliverables, monitoring and tracking progress, and communication to stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.

- Considerable experience preparing or drafting project management plans and documents (e.g. statement of work, project charter, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), risk management plan, scope document, resource plan, project schedule, options analysis, financial documents).
Considerable experience conducting environmental scans, researching, investigating and analyzing complex concepts, data, business processes, to identify options, make recommendations, create efficiencies and drive divisional effectiveness for improvements in service delivery.

Considerable experience engaging with senior leadership across various public health organizations and effectively managing stakeholder relationships.

Strong time management and organization skills and attention to detail to monitor tasks, follow upon action items and ensure team members stay on track.

Strong communication, presentation and facilitations skills to engage with others, deliver and compile project updates, track progress, and provide status reports to leadership.

- Knowledge of Ontario Public Health Standards, Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and public health digital solutions would be considered an asset.
