QUALIFICATIONS

  • A two-or-three year diploma from college in construction technology, architectural technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on major repair and replacement.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices.
  • Strong knowledge of high-rise residential building systems and equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of project coordination, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in using project management software such as MS Project.
  • Must be able to navigate potentially confined spaces safely.
  • Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs may be required.
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The ideal candidate will help manage and coordinate , equipment repairs and replacements, and capital expenditure projects in our portfolio. The Project Coordinator will work with the capital projects manager to closely supervise contractors to ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and comply with safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General Project Coordination:

  • Help coordinate and manage renovations.
  • Help coordinate and manage equipment repairs and replacements.
  • Work closely with contractors to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with property management staff to coordinate project schedules and minimize disruption to residents.

Capital Expenditure Projects:

  • Help coordinate and manage capital expenditure projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Support asset management initiatives by providing detailed project status reports and asset condition assessments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of long-term capital planning strategies.
  • Help coordinate the replacement and repair of capital work on key high-rise building systems and equipment including but not limited to:

o Elevators
o Boilers
o Domestic hot water tanks
o Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
o Electrical systems and generators
o Plumbing systems and stacks
o Exterior painting and caulking
o Windows and doors
o Roof systems
o Fire safety systems (sprinklers, alarms)
o Parking garages and pavement
o Building facade and structural elements

General Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to project-related issues and concerns, providing efficient and effective solutions and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards, best practices, and new technologies related to high-rise residential building projects.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
