JOB DESCRIPTION:

Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) is located in North Philadelphia and has a strong commitment to staff collaboration and support. ECCS seeks a mission-driven Manager of Charter Initiatives who aligns with ECCS’s mission and is passionate about equity. The Manager of Charter Initiatives organizes and oversees the daily operations of ECCS’ district office, ensuring the organization is well-coordinated, productive, and effectively manages projects by coaching its people and implementing project management methodologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Spanish fluency preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with Google Suites and Excel
  • Passion for education and belief in the power of equity
  • Current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks

SKILLS:

  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Knowledge of public school legal rules and guidelines
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Constant use of hands, fingers, and arms with excellent eye-hand coordination
  • Clear hearing and speech
  • Occasional walking, bending, squatting, reaching, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to see and perform visual activities
  • Lift and/or move up to 30 lbs
  • Onsite presence for all required days

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Project Management


    • Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with ECCS’s Vision, Mission, and Charter.

    • Manage and coordinate projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Implement project management methodologies and tools to track progress and ensure accountability.
    • Personnel and Team Development


      • Ensure adequate and well-trained supervisory, educational, technical, and clerical staff.

      • Recommend employment of instructional and non-instructional personnel to the CEO.
      • Implement an effective supervision and evaluation system for staff based on board policies.
      • Oversee training and evaluation of staff to ensure success and growth opportunities.
      • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication


        • Influence and motivate peers through effective communication of ECCS objectives.

        • Serve as ECCS representative, negotiating with stakeholders to achieve goals.
        • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, administration, agencies, and the community.
        • Reporting and Documentation


          • Write reports, formal correspondence, and other documents.

          • Participate in continuing professional development based on assessment of needs.
          • Address inquiries, concerns, or complaints from any organization member effectively.
          • Compliance and Policy Development


            • Recommend suspension or termination of employees/contractors for various reasons.

            • Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and handbooks as they apply to personnel.
            • Serve as the Title IX coordinator, ensuring compliance and implementing practices, policies, and training school-wide.
