Save the Children Mozambique Cyclone Idai Response TITLE: Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) PROJECT Coordinator REPORTS FSL Program Manager LOCATION: North Kordofan /Elobied GRADE: NAT 3 CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 months CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will be in a field-based position and have contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g. once a week or more). ROLE PURPOSE: The FSL Coordinator will be responsible for assuring efficient, effective and high-quality implementation of all FSL programming at the provincial level. They will work closely with the FSL Program Manager to ensure effective program management and achieve key program deliverables. They will directly line-manage field staff (FSL officers) to ensure they are able to implement activities to a high standard. They will also liaise with other actors (government authorities, local and international NGOs, UN agencies, etc.) at the provincial and district level to ensure effective coordination of FSL activities. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Responsible for overall FSL program quality and timely implementation at the field-level. Work closely with other thematic sectors to ensure program activities are delivered in a coherent and integrated way. Support FSL technical assessments in coordination with other SC thematic sectors and/or external actors. Work closely with FSL staff to ensure that beneficiary selection processes are transparent and participatory. Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure that appropriate accountability mechanism(s) are understood and accessible to beneficiaries. Support FSL field staff in responding to any feedback as needed. Coordinate closely with operations and security teams to finalize distribution plans and ensure proper and timely procedures are in place for distribution of FSL inputs. Coordinate closely with the finance team and support the design, implementation and monitoring of voucher schemes. Ensure post distribution monitoring and market price monitoring are carried out following all voucher and in-kind distributions. Provide coaching to FSL officers and FSL assistants in relation to quality project implementation. Support the FSL Advisor with program design and strategy development, including economic recovery programming. Support donor reporting requirements as needed. Any other task & responsibilities given by the line manager and to comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Bachler Degree in disaster response, rural development, agriculture, or comparable field (or equivalent field experience). 3 + years of experience in humanitarian setting/with humanitarian organisations. Experience working on humanitarian cash-based programming. Organisation, management and negotiation skills. Good communication skills, both oral and written. Able to work independently with minimum level of supervision while under pressure. Honest and motivated. Previous experience in project management, training and capacity building of staff. Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.) Desirable Knowledge of working environment and context Understanding of MEAL humanitarian contexts.
