Description

The Project Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of traffic signal and street lighting components within larger road construction projects. This role bridges technical teams, contractors, and stakeholders while overseeing documentation, compliance, safety, and progress tracking.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems
  • Minimum 5 Years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator
  • Experienced with project software such as Accubid, Excel, Cloud, Microsoft project, and PDF software
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on quality of work
  • Exceptional work ethic, self-motivated, and highly driven
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Experience in/exposure to traffic related electrical construction (eg.intersection signal installation) will be given preference

Responsibilities
  1. Project Planning & Coordination
    Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and coordinating traffic signal and street lighting activities within overall road construction projects.
    Develop and maintain project schedules, documentation, and progress reports.
    Coordinate with design consultants, utility providers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of electrical and signal systems.
  2. Technical Support & Documentation
    Review design drawings, specifications, and contract documents related to traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and street lighting.
    Prepare technical submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change order documentation.
    Ensure all project documentation complies with regulatory, contractual, and client requirements.
  3. Site Coordination
    Support field teams during the installation of traffic signals, controllers, cabling, junction boxes, poles, and street lighting systems.
    Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities with contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
    Track material deliveries, monitor inventory, and ensure proper installation procedures are followed.
  4. Stakeholder Communication
    Act as a liaison between contractors, consultants, utility agencies, and the client to resolve technical or schedule related issues.
    Participate in progress meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
    Provide regular updates on project milestones, risks, and delays to the Project Manager.
  5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
    Monitor contractor adherence to safety protocols, traffic management plans, and quality standards.
    Support environmental and regulatory compliance for electrical and roadway work zones.
    Assist with audits, inspections, and permit coordination with municipalities and utility companies.
  6. Financial & Administrative Support
    Track project costs and budgets, and assist with processing invoices and payment applications.
    Support procurement activities, including vendor coordination and material approvals.
    Maintain accurate records of variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
