HER UKR is an Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Policy Debate project funded by the European Commission. We are looking for a Project Coordinator (Assistant to the Project Leader) for the remaining time of the project (1 March 2025 – 31 December 2026).
The project HER-UKR: Challenges and opportunities for EU heritage diplomacy in Ukraine researches the role of cultural heritage in the EU’s external action. A consortium of 15 universities brings together interdisciplinary expertise on EU foreign policy, Eastern European memory politics and heritage practices. HER-UKR aims to explore the potential of the EU in heritage policies by focusing on three subtopics: 1) EU cultural heritage diplomacy for promoting democracy and European values; 2) conflict prevention with focus on contested heritage; 3) protection and reconstruction of heritage.

Responsibilities
  • Together with the Project Leader you keep an overview of the project’s progress
  • You monitor the use of project resources together with the Project Leader, Principal Investigators of partner institutions and staff members of KU Leuven Research and Development
  • You follow up and guide the submission of project deliverables in collaboration with the leads of the project’s work packages
  • You facilitate the exchange of information between the various work packages and the principal investigators of the partner institutions. This exchange takes place via e-mail, ad hoc video conferences and regular steering committee meetings
  • You follow up and support the communication of the project with the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission via its online portal; you inform principal investigators and staff members of partner institutions on the procedures of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Policy Debate reporting procedures and monitor that they supply correct data and information
  • You take the lead in drafting intermediary and final reporting documents. You collect and coordinate the input from Principal Investigators and the financial cells at various partner institutions
  • You assist the PL and other collaborators in organizing workshops, outreach events and educational initiatives as well as in developing the project’s policy recommendations
  • You manage the project website and social media channels
