Description

Boston University’s AI and Education Initiative is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to play a key role in launching and supporting the Evidence-Based AI in Learning (EVAL) Industry Collaborative and its flagship EVAL Competition. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing competition logistics, coordinating research activities, and serving as a liaison with schools, districts, and EdTech partners.
This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment. This role is well-suited for candidates with experience in K12 education who are looking to expand their expertise in project management and educational research. A master’s degree is preferred, though highly experienced candidates without one will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of the EVAL Competition, including application intake, communication with applicants, scheduling review panels, and supporting RCT implementation.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with participating schools, districts, and EdTech company partners. Organize meetings, track deadlines, and maintain project documentation and timelines.
  • Assist in preparing project updates, website content, and materials for external audiences.
  • Support Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, data collection logistics, and preparation of study-related materials. Maintain detailed project records, prepare progress reports, and contribute to grant deliverables. Work closely with the Principal Investigator and research team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the collaborative.

Required Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in education, psychology, public policy, or related field (masters degree preferred).
  • Experience working in or with K12 schools. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Masters degree in education, psychology, public health, or related field.
  • Experience coordinating research projects, preferably in education. Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes.
  • Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders, including school staff and external partners. Understanding of AI and educational technology trends a plus.

Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting and computer-based work. Occasional travel to local schools and partner sites during school hours. Ability to carry materials and equipment up to 10 pounds.
Additional Information: This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally visible initiative shaping the future of AI in education through rigorous, independent evaluation. We encourage applicants who can commit to at least two years in the role.
Salary: Based on experience, anticipated range $55,000$65,000 annually.
