About the Role: This position is with our internal construction and development team, reporting to the Meruelo Group VP of Construction, (and not with our separate construction company (Meruelo Enterprises Inc.) which provides services to third party customers). This team is responsible for internal construction and development projects including a new arena in Reno, CapEx improvements at our related businesses, and owned real estate developments. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to work with this team in coordinating the information from third party contractors and coordinating internal data for various construction projects under Meruelo Group entities. This role is critical to ensuring smooth communication, timely reporting, and alignment of project objectives across all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: ² Act as the coordinating person between internal construction personnel, third party contractors, and other internal depts, such as Accounting and Risk Management. ² Prepare draft construction documents, including purchase orders and contracts, as directed by the VP of Construction and input these to the accounting system. ² Track construction cost data, and communicate with internal construction personnel. ² Review third party billings for acceptability, including conformance with schedules of value, lien releases and insurance certs. ² Prepare and distribute accurate meeting minutes, progress reports, and documentation. ² Assist in budget tracking and reporting in collaboration with internal construction personnel. ² Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy access and audit readiness. ² Assist with preparation and processing of intercompany billings. Qualifications: ² 5+ years of experience in construction project coordination or similar role. ² Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology, and documentation. ² Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. ² Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ² Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar). ² Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). ² Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. ² Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. ² Familiarity with Trimble Viewpoint/Spectrum software a huge plus.
