This is a full-time, grant-funded position, funded through July 2027 by a 3-year U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant, and is an important part of ecomaine’s commitment to sustainable waste management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This role is well-suited for entry-level professionals with exposure to project coordination, public outreach, or environmental programs through employment, internships, or volunteer/community involvement. Experience with multi-family housing developments or municipal programs is a plus.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills; ability to manage spreadsheets, track trends, and present findings clearly.
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities for working across diverse groups.
  • Strong data management and analysis skills; ability to track program metrics, identify trends, and prepare clear reports using Excel or other data tools.
  • Knowledge of recycling programs and sustainable waste management practices is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed (hours flexed to maintain a 40-hour work week).
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to properties and events; valid State of Maine driver’s license and insurability under ecomaine’s policies.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, walk long distances, and work in environments with loud noise and dust.
