PROJECT COORDINATOR:

On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for a Project Coordinator for a 6 month contract role. This position is onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

PROJECT COORDINATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is establishing a robust cyber security program in response to escalating digital threats. The initiative focuses on enhancing the organization’s digital defenses and ensuring the continuity of operations.

PROJECT COORDINATOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in project coordination or project support roles, ideally within the public sector, IT, or security-related environments
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with IT and security-related initiatives
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, MS Project, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Capable of supporting vendor coordination

PROJECT COORDINATOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts
  • Exposure to security frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS)
  • Experience supporting public sector procurement or supply chain projects
  • Educational background in Project Management, Business Administration, IT, or related disciplines
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM
Responsibilities
  • Support the cyber security team in coordinating and implementing various initiatives
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, capturing meeting minutes, and following up on action items
  • Help coordinate deliverables across teams and monitor progress to ensure alignment with timelines and milestones
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, such as status reports, project plans, risk logs, and communications
  • Coordinate with internal departments, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Support business requirements gathering efforts and help document stakeholder needs
  • Track and update project schedules, task lists, timelines, and dependencies
