                                                                                                                       JOB ANNOUNCEMENT                                                                                                                     ONE PROJECT COORDINATOR                                                                                                                             based in Toamasina As part of its activities in Madagascar, Save the Children is looking for one Project Coordinator under a six‑month local employment contract KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: * Lead the development of a comprehensive implementation strategy with clear benchmark indicators and work plans. * Work with staff to ensure effective monitoring, evaluation and documentation of programme activities. * Produce timely reports, including monthly internal progress reports, and all required reports  * Assessing progress of implementation of activities against plans on monthly basis, and documenting progress and action corrective measures as and when required * Support and strengthen local partners on various thematics related to SCI activities * Lead and oversee the development of tools and materials related to SCI activities * Ensure the community-based protection mechanism interventions and activities are implemented, supported and documented * Conduct monitoring field visits in the project area to provide guidance and ensure that Save the Children activities are well implemented  * Contribute to strengthening co-ordination and collaboration within and across program teams, ensuring constructive communications, building team morale and the development of a positive working environment; *  Ensure the effective and efficient use of all SC resources in order to keep costs low and ensure safety in the workplace. * Carry out all other activities as requested by the supervisor QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Required functional skills: * Master Degree in relevant discipline (social work/social sciences or equivalent). * Minimum of five years in substantial experience working with a humanitarian a/o development organization; * Skills and experience in project/program implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation * Demonstrable experience of using current quality standards and guidelines for child protection programmes. * Strong planning and organisational skills to meet programme goals. * Substantial people and program management experience with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels * Substantial experience and knowledge of managing effective financial and budgetary controls. * Experience of working with local, international and government partners. * Good command of Malagasy (spoken and written) and French.
