Description Position Title: Project Coordinator Reports to: Assistant Director Category: Full-Time, Exempt Location: Washington, DC Hours: Flexible schedule (Monday-Friday), hours between 7 am and 6 pm. Some evenings, holidays, and weekends may be required to support operations and to respond to emergencies. Travel: Required, please refer to Specific Requirements below. Summary: This position reports to Assistant Director. This position will supervise the Employment Specialist, Community Resource Specialist, Health Care Navigator, and Staff Attorney & Benefits Specialist. The Project Coordinator will conduct in office one on one supervision to ensure that best practices are being used, participant-centeredness is being exhibited and to provide quality assurance in grant compliance and implementation. The Project Coordinator will also support day-to-day logistics for veteran needs that fall outside of their direct supervisory duties. The Project Coordinator will work to empower low-income Veteran Families in DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun, Prince William, Fairfax, Montgomery, Frederick, Prince George’s, Washington, Anne Arundel, Howard, Allegany, Carroll, and Garrett counties to become stably housed. Essential Position Requirements and Competencies: Supervise direct report staff in field supervision and weekly check-ins Decision making authority in regards to spending grant funds and implementation of policy and procedures Develop, review, update policy and procedure manual as needed and implement policy and procedures amongst staff Foster empowerment and a team environment in offices Assist in monitoring of HMIS data quality as needed Collect feedback from partners and participants and incorporate their feedback into the program when appropriate Develop and manage goals, staff development and timekeeping of all direct report staff Ensure that staff utilize best practices and exhibit participant centeredness at all times Collaborate and engage with external agencies providing services to participants, including ?community and government agencies Complete monthly dashboard report and quarterly Goals and Objectives Monitor goals of each specialist and monitor tracking and external feedback on internal documents, including monitoring of distribution of landlord satisfaction surveys Maintain and collect data and notes on Excel for tracking purposes Assist with short-term financial assistance for veterans, including but not limited to HUD-VASH Referrals Build trusting relationships with participants and respond with empathy and flexibility to foster wellness, independence, and service delivery Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and actively seek out professional development opportunities Communicate professionally and clearly in all interactions—both written and verbal—to support seamless service delivery and collaboration Demonstrate integrity, cultural responsiveness, and mission alignment in a fast-paced, equity-driven environment Maintains compliance in all assigned mandatory training and background clearances. Provide supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness with serious mental illnesses, addictions, medical concerns, etc. Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program and its participants Requirements Qualifications Education and Experience: A High School diploma or GED and one year of direct human service experience providing counseling and/or case management services to vulnerable or at-risk populations A bachelor’s degree in any field and two years of direct human service experience providing counseling and/or case management services to vulnerable or at-risk populations, preferred Must have or be able to obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED certification that includes a hands-on skills testing module. Friendship Place will provide First Aid/CPR/AED training Understanding and/or experience working with Veterans Experience with HMIS data entry preferred Strong written and verbal skills Strong clinical skills and crisis management skills Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment Ability to work well under pressure Ability to work as a team player Physical & Environmental Requirements: The role requires a balance of office-based tasks and fieldwork, including travel throughout the service area to meet with households, as well as participating in meetings and engagements with key stakeholders. At least 50% of the time will be spent in an office setting, must be able to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods, up to 50% will be spent working in the field with supervising case managers, working with participants, attending community events and attending CoC meetings. Background Checks: The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting, including, CFSA, NSO, previous employment and education verification, personal and professional references, TB test, a UDS, and clearance from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The vehicle must meet all legal requirements, including valid registration and current auto insurance. Employees must provide the employer with current copies of their valid driver’s license and proof of insurance as a condition of employment. Additionally, employees are required to notify the employer and provide updated documentation within a legally appropriate timeframe if there are any changes to their driver’s license status or insurance coverage. Compensation: The hiring pay range is between $63,506.00 - $69,000.00. The starting annual salary is based on a step system. A candidate’s starting pay determination is made based on meeting the basic position requirements, and current completed education, credentials, and work experience.
