Role Overview
Teck is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, leading, coordinating and executing projects related to, maintenance activities, outages, and emergency work.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Support the project lead for studies and execution planning to develop and implement projects.
- Prepare appropriation requests and feasibility studies
- Review maintenance scopes, design criteria, equipment specification, and constructability to ensure scope of work is well defined and the execution plan is achievable
- Ensure waste management (categorization, storage and disposal) is planned and executed
- Participate in contract strategy, scope of work, schedules and estimates to ensure cost and schedule meet Teck's requirements for best value and quality
- Issue Purchase orders, contract notifications, requisitions and single source justifications
- Manage and coordinate daily contractor resources and tasks
- Manage, review and update project costs and schedules
- Act as the qualified coordinator for overlapping hazards between contractors
- Ensure all permits, contractor inductions and safe work plans are in place
- Ensure that plant hazards are identified and systems are in place to address
- Applicable material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Follow site and plant procedures
