In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Work under the guidance of a Project Manager and collaborate with Transportation Engineers, Planners, and Designers to complete transportation impact studies, parking studies, and functional design reviews within budget and on schedule.
- Contribute to the delivery of technical projects by supporting tasks related to design, planning, and analysis.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering project teams to develop a project timeline, create schedules, and oversee progress to make sure deliverables are met on time.
- Monitor and track the progress of the project work, including resources, schedules and budget to make sure the project is running smoothly and efficiently and to support the preparation of status reports.
- Liaise with other project disciplines, sub-consultants, stakeholders and parties where applicable in coordinating technical aspects of the project work.
- Ensure adherence to quality control and quality assurance measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent LEA in project meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of transportation-related proposals and participate in the preparation and presentation of the technical report to the clients.
- Continuously enhance professional skills and knowledge through training, seminars, workshops, and involvement in professional associations to stay updated on industry trends, software, and technology.
- Manage other relevant assignments within the scope of the Transportation practice area.
The qualifications you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or planning, with 3-4 years of experience in Transportation Engineering/Planning.
- Experience as a Project Coordinator in the field of Transportation.
- Registered or working towards professional engineering licensure (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPO) or working towards it.
- Applied knowledge of published standards and guidelines from national, provincial, and municipal governments and associations.
- Good knowledge in the use of one or more of the industry-relevant software (AutoCAD/AutoTURN, Civil3D, MicroStation, Inroads, Synchro/SimTraffic, EMME, TORUS, VISSIM, AIMSUN).
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to complete multiple project tasks and meet tight project deadlines when required.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment, working towards common goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated ability in time management skills, effectively multitask, and capable of handling changing priorities within a demanding deadline-orientated environment.
- Self-motivation to continuously learn while completing assigned work tasks.
