What you will be doing The purpose of the Project Cost Controller is to manage the AKL financial process responsibilities on behalf of Infrastructure projects. This role will be achieved through effective management of the infrastructure journalling process, assisting the Programme Cost Controller with Month End tasks as required in close collaboration with internal and external teams both on and off project to ensure financial success. Your key responsibilities are: Management of purchase orders on behalf of the Project Management Office for both Capital and Operational commitments. Finance interface between Infrastructure and the AKL finance team. Management of cost schedules on behalf of Infrastructure capital projects for those without cost consultants. Assist the Programme Cost Controller with month end function including cashflow, contingency and risk reporting. Lead by example, demonstrating and communicating visibly safe work. Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner to enable continuous learning and improvement. Consult, engage and communicate within your team and to others, to manage and improve Health, Safety and Wellbeing. To ensure your success in this role, you will need: 3+ years of experience in project cost control or financial management within construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field is preferable Strong analytical and numerical skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
