Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are supporting a respected consultancy on the delivery of a high-profile Department of Defence program. They are seeking an experienced Project Costing Specialist to join their Canberra-based team and contribute to a critical capability initiative.
In this role, you will provide expert cost estimation and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making across the project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with Defence stakeholders to ensure costing aligns with operational goals, procurement strategies, and value-for-money outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cost Modelling & Estimation: Develop detailed cost models and estimates for Defence capability projects.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with technical and financial stakeholders to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
  • Tool-Based Analysis: Apply costing methodologies using tools such as CCT, ACEIT, or TruePlanning.
  • Risk & Sensitivity Analysis: Identify cost drivers and assess financial risks and sensitivities.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare clear, defensible costing documentation and present findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of costing frameworks and best practices.
