Description

About the role
Project Manager (project Delivery Manager) – Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)
@one Alliance is a partnership of eight leading companies—Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO—delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to undertake our largest project yet. This is a unique opportunity to drive industry change, set global standards, and foster career growth.
We are seeking a Project Manager (PDM) to lead the successful execution of projects that mitigate operational risks and enhance infrastructure resilience. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a dedicated team responsible for developing solutions and ensuring seamless project delivery. You will be accountable for managing multiple projects simultaneously, navigating competing operational demands, and optimizing team performance while maintaining strong client relationships to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
What you’ll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure CDM compliance across all projects through rigorous audits, reviews, and adherence to the TOTEX Delivery Process.
  • Translate high-level programme strategy into tangible project outcomes, ensuring clarity of objectives for the team.
  • Optimize team resources, drive performance, and proactively address any performance challenges.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with Anglian Water stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Lead the full project lifecycle—from initial scoping to construction, handover, and post-delivery support.
  • Maintain project alignment with agreed cost, time, and quality benchmarks, effectively mitigating risks and resolving emerging issues.
  • Ensure key project milestones, such as Project Rehearsal and Fit for Assembly, are achieved successfully.

Who we’re looking for

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven technical experience in the water/wastewater sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety (H&S) and CDM regulations.
  • IOSH qualification (or equivalent).
  • APMP qualification or similar project management certification.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple parties.
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities (written and verbal).
  • Experience operating within a commercial framework and managing budgets.
  • Team leadership experience with a focus on performance and development.
  • Familiarity with NEC Option C contracts.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of water infrastructure, drive industry-leading projects, and advance your career with @one Alliance.
If you are ready to make an impact, we would love to hear from you!
