WHAT YOU’LL BRING: EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 7+ years in construction management, ideally with public realm or infrastructure projects.
  • Background in heavy civils or groundworks.
  • An academic qualification in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-construction, design, and tender stages.
  • Strong commercial understanding and cost control capabilities.
  • Proficiency in project planning tools and common digital environments.
  • Experience with contract management software is advantageous.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all aspects of the project lifecycle from tender to handover.
  • Drive project performance through strategic planning and day-to-day oversight.
  • Interface directly with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Monitor cost control and demonstrate commercial acumen throughout.
  • Mentor project teams, providing leadership across technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Chair meetings, manage sub-consultants and design teams, and coordinate with site personnel.
  • Ensure timely production of design documentation and compliance with contract specifications.
  • Deliver the project on time, within budget, and to required standards.
    Design Management Focus: In addition to operational leadership, you’ll also play a key role in managing and coordinating design outputs, particularly at the tender and pre-construction stages. Your ability to guide design consultants, contribute to material selection, and lead value engineering initiatives will be instrumental in driving innovation and project success.

DESIGN MANAGEMENT DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Overseeing design consultants and subcontractors to align design output with construction requirements.
  • Supporting early-stage project planning and D&B contract understanding.
  • Implementing structured design management processes and tools.
  • Leading design meetings and ensuring accurate documentation workflows.
