ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR – DESIGN / PROJECT MANAGEMENT Building Services | Transport & Infrastructure Two roles available We are seeking two experienced Associate Directors (Design / Project Management) to join our Building Services Transport sector. These roles are ideally suited to senior professionals with a strong electrical or mechanical background who are highly project focused, commercially astute and thrive working as part of a leadership team. Working as 2ICs to the Building Services Transport Sector Lead, these positions play a critical role in the successful delivery of major transport and infrastructure projects, while supporting team leadership, client relationships and the ongoing growth of the sector. THE ROLE In these Associate Director roles, you will: * Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex MEP projects across metro, rail and wider transport infrastructure * Provide strong design and project management leadership, ensuring high‑quality, coordinated outcomes across multidisciplinary teams * Act as trusted deputies to the Sector Lead, supporting the day‑to‑day leadership of the team and stepping in as required * Mentor and develop senior engineers and project managers, contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture * Take responsibility for commercial performance, including project budgets, fee management, forecasting and risk * Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting repeat work and long‑term partnerships * Contribute to business planning, growth strategy and work winning, particularly within the transport and infrastructure market * Work closely with peers across the business to drive consistent delivery and shared success ABOUT YOU You will bring: * 12+ years’ experience in design and/or project management within consulting or major project environments * A strong electrical or mechanical engineering background, ideally within building services (MEP) * Proven experience delivering metro, rail or major transport infrastructure projects * Demonstrated experience in design management from concept through to construction * Strong people leadership capability, with a collaborative and team‑first mindset * Sound commercial and financial acumen, including fee and programme management * An interest in business strategy, sector growth and leadership beyond pure project delivery * The confidence to operate at senior client level while remaining hands on and delivery focused WHY THESE ROLES These are opportunities to step into true Associate Director positions, where impact goes beyond individual projects.
