Our core values as are: Genuine - Curious - Creative - Committed - Impactful Requirements Using professional design knowledge, the Project Designer provides design services including furniture selection, specification and pricing to customers including proposal and budgeting assistance. Works closely with sales, order entry and installation groups, as well as customers, to ensure accurate plans and specifications, to achieve customer satisfaction and high-quality project implementation and profitability. Coordinates and maintains relationships with manufacturer and independent furniture representatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Attends client planning meetings; presents plans and information to customer for review and approvals. Reviews site and conducts field measurements. Has the ability to live design with client with an Account Executive. Inventories existing product; produces as-built drawings/specifications. Clarifies scope and expectation by conducting programming analysis, interviewing customer/end users, researching workplace requirements, and analyzing furniture needs Develops working drawings for specification and installation Develops product specifications, double-checks specifications against plans, and prepares specifications for order-entry using electronic specification program Conducts field and punch-list review with installation group. Understands projects financial information and profitability. Monitors design hours on all projects to ensure actual time spent on design work is reasonable and within the estimated hours for those projects. Works collaboratively with clients, and clients' third-party firms, including A&D firms, interior contractors, electrical and communication engineers, customer’s IT group, etc. Collaborates with manufacturer representatives to gain accurate and best pricing. Coordinates manufacturer representative presentations and catalog updates. Works with AEs on RFP responses. Contract Furniture/Design Industry Knowledge Has strong knowledge of interior design field and current practices. Understands workplace environment issues including ergonomics, technology integration, and alterna­tive workspaces. Has a working knowledge of contract furniture lines, including features/benefits, pricing, application, and specification options. Has a working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc. Understands contract furniture processes, including order preparation, project management, order management and delivery/installation Has strong knowledge of dealerships, furniture vendors, furniture specification and current industry practices. Has working knowledge of contract furniture lines, pricing, application, assembly and specification options. Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, especially Power Point and Excel. Has working knowledge of AutoCAD. Understands contract furniture processes, including order preparation, project management, order management and delivery/installation. Product application and specification of Haworth seating, wood/metal casegoods, tables, is preferred. Qualifications and Skills: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design required 2-3 years of experience in contract furniture design is required. Must have excellent time management skills. Possess organizational and prioritization skills. Self-driven, proactive, and willing to take initiative.
