POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Project Designer to take full ownership of audio system design projects from concept to deliverables. This role requires deep technical expertise, creativity, and the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terms. You will design premium residential and commercial audio systems, ensuring each project achieves outstanding performance, reliability, and aesthetic integration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of audio system design or acoustic engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of loudspeaker types, placement, and performance modeling
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite; CAD and NetSuite experience a plus
  • Familiarity with DSP programming, amplification, and control system integration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities
  • Audio System Design: Create complete designs for residential and commercial distributed audio, home theaters, and immersive environments.
  • Acoustics: Apply knowledge of room acoustics, dispersion, SPL requirements, and coverage calculations; interpret EASE or similar simulation outputs.
  • Technology & Integration: Match amplifiers, DSPs, and control systems (Q-SYS, Savant, Control4, Crestron, Josh) to project needs; design signal flow diagrams and layouts.
  • Blueprint & Plans: Read and interpret architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and electrical diagrams; produce clear speaker layout diagrams for installers.
  • Creativity & Problem-Solving: Translate client needs into high-performance, aesthetically integrated designs; adapt to unique challenges like complex architecture, long cable runs, or power constraints.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Present and explain designs to dealers, architects, and clients; write clear proposals and design justifications; work closely with engineering, sales, and installation teams.
  • Professional Traits: Maintain accuracy in measurements, drawings, and calculations; adapt to evolving project requirements; stay current with audio technologies and trends.
