Title: Project Developer The Project Developer is responsible for developing energy storage projects and managing the project team. Roles & Responsibilities: Prospecting and researching target areas Negotiating and securing site control and managing landowner relationships Securing discretionary and understanding ministerial permitting Negotiating and securing tax abatements Identifying and resolving title issues Coordinating with Business Development in understanding the business case and securing project-level revenue Monitoring and participating in regulatory and legislative policy initiatives Leading interdisciplinary project teams by working independently and with outside parties such as permit officers, fire departments, SMEs, vendors, contractors, etc. Working with project teams to determine appropriate project schedule and forecast costs to support project activities Coordinating with other departments regarding late-stage development activities and project handoff to EPC and/or Asset Management teams Supporting continuous improvement initiatives for the project development team to maintain and iterate upon existing tools and processes Support key project financial decisions around project funding as well as M&A opportunities Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) Ability to communicate across a broad spectrum of technical understanding - written, verbal, and non-verbal Public speaking Development risk identification and assessment Proficiency with project management software, customer relationship management software, and GIS preferred Must be able to walk unassisted over uneven ground and stand for prolonged periods of time Characteristics of an ideal candidate: Passion for energy development and the environment Creative problem-solving ability and solutions-oriented mindset Self-starter with a desire to succeed and a focus on creating value Team player and leader with a proactive attitude and collaborative disposition Organized, attention to detail Comfortable with a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment Ability to make informed decisions quickly and a bias for action Strong sense of integrity and accountability Education & Experience: 4-year university degree, BS or BA 1-2 years of experience preferred; exceptional entry level candidates will be considered Travel & Time Commitment: Approximately 30% of time will be on the road; will vary based on status of projects Travel includes independent site visits and landowner meetings This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times.
