MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  1. Excellent writing, communication, organizational and customer service skills. 2. Experience and interest in working in Personnel or Human Resources. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Payroll Management System (PMS) and New York City Automated Personnel System (NYCAPS) a plus. 4. Ability to handle confidential matters and to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform difficult administrative functions in the Human Resources division.
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis and generate detailed reports.
  • Serve as a liaison to other divisions, agencies and organizations.
  • Review and maintain accurate employee records and compile reports.
  • Research and draft responses to customer inquiries.
  • May maintain and track the probationary status of all agency employees and review and process probationary period extension requests.
  • May compose and edit job postings and interview matrices.
  • May schedule interviews and coordinate and distribute interview materials.
  • Manage special projects and assignments.
  • Provide general administrative support, including filing, answering phones, and responding to inquiries
