Job Description We're looking for an experienced and visionary Project Director to lead a PMC Data Center project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this delivery role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data center projects while managing a high-performing team and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with deep knowledge of data center infrastructure and a proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Direct the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale data center projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines Provide strategic leadership and vision for the PMC data center operations, establishing clear goals and performance metrics Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines with precision, optimizing allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize costs Lead and mentor a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks proactively, developing contingency plans to ensure project continuity Oversee stakeholder communication and relationship management, providing regular updates to executive leadership and key partners Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies across all data center operations Monitor project performance metrics and KPIs, conducting regular reviews and implementing corrective actions as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure planning, capacity management, and technology implementation Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery Qualifications Minimum 20 + years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5+ years in data center, infrastructure, or facilities management Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex, multi-million dollar projects Strong leadership experience managing teams of 10+ professionals across multiple disciplines Demonstrated expertise in budget management, financial forecasting, and resource optimization Advanced knowledge of data center operations, architecture, and infrastructure management Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT service management best practices Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and modern data center technologies Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification (preferred) Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Proficiency with project management tools and software platforms Additional Information About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
