  Job Title: Project Director Reporting to: Managing Director  Department: Commercial     Job Profile:   Take financial responsibility and accountability for several projects or take the leas on a strategically key project within a division as a site based Commercial Director. To take responsibility for the regular review of financial performance or projects within division in order to improve financial certainty and maximise commercial success of projects. To ensure best practise and continuous improvement in divisional financial processes on site. To provide high quality management information to commercial leaders and support, monitor and advice to financial staff throughout the division. To lead and develop teams of commercial staff on a number of projects to suit their aspirations and needs. To have the knowledge and interpersonal skills to be involved in identifying future work and actively participate in securing it. To assist the board deliver increasing margin.    Key Deliverables & Responsibilities:   Accurate and timely project financial management:   * Attend start up meetings with the financial and delivery team within first week of contract award for allocated projects * Ensure project team approach is clearly aligned with StructureTone’s expectations for the specific project * Monitor financial resources on allocated projects to commercial leads ensuring risks are clearly identified and brought to their attention promptly and regularly * Completion of all identified actions to deadlines * Collect retention monies by due date on allocated projects * Collate, review and submit monthly MCRs and CVRs * Attend all VPMs on allocated projects, and as requested by the commercial leads on non-allocated projects in a visiting capacity   Pro-active project and technical support: * Hold regular financial review for allocated projects, held on project site, with project financial team to address financial performance, identity potential issues or problems and collaborate to deliver solutions and accurate forecasts * Provide accurate and timely feedback and guidance to the project financial teams on allocated projects * Ownership for implementing solutions and closing issues where appropriate in support of the project financial team * Timely transfer of skills and experience to the project financial teams on allocated projects * Attend monthly financial meetings and contribute as required by the commercial leads * Attend and promote company forums   Effective people management  * Adhere to the employment policies  * Manage project financial teams in line with the values, psychological contract and culture * Provide clear, appropriate and timely feedback on performance, attitude and behaviour to project commercial individual team members on allocated projects * Encourage Commercial managers to attend to their training pathway, monitoring attendance * Participate in the PDP review process * Develop and implement a mechanism for allocated project financials to share with project construction team’s continuity of approach and lessons learnt * Act promptly and positively to address performance or behaviour issues when they arise, utilising the support of HR   Productive trade contractor relationships * Develop and maintain positive relationships with directors of trade contractor organisations and other suppliers for allocated projects * Ensure Bid Lists are prepared with proper commercial consideration and integrity and that all Bid lists are approved    New Opportunities  * See out, follow up and develop sales opportunities (in conjunction with sales and marketing teams)   Positive contribution to winning work * Provide financial input to proposals * Contribute to client presentations      Key Qualifications and Memberships: * Experience in establishing, managing and leading a large project team and/or multiple smaller project teams * Experience in managing relationships with clients/ consultants and suppliers which raise profile and lead to new opportunities  * Commercially focused with a proven track record of delivering high quality results whilst maintaining positive relationships  * Accurate with figures and reports   Relationship Colleagues:   1.
