KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related discipline, and extensive experience directing, leading and/or guiding digital transformation programs/projects in a large public or private sector organization using project management best practices and tools.
- Considerable experience delivering large public digital experience initiatives/programs to a large organization, using Waterfall and Agile approaches.
- Extensive experience working with executives, sponsors and senior management teams across a large organization to meet large scale divisional and organizational information technology initiatives.
- PMP or Agile certification and experience with change management will be considered assets, along with experience working in a shared project management environment, using collaborative project management tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
- Effective communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills.
- Ability to work and maintain productive consulting relationships with various stakeholders across the City of Toronto.
- Extensive experience in contract negotiations,managing contracts from inception to closure, including RFP and Sole Source, and directly and indirectly managing business and technical teams and resources (operational managers, project managers, staff, contractors and vendors) for the development of business and technical solutions to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities:
The Project Director will provide direction, leadership and guidance to foundational programs/projects or strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Technology Officer, Enterprise Strategy and Project Delivery, The Project Director will lead the development and delivery of digital experience solutions, that are aligned with the City’s corporate objective, in collaboration with divisional business partners.
