We are seeking an experienced Project Director for upcoming projects in Melbourne. The position will be based in our Southbank with frequent visits to site. What will a day in this role look like: · This key client-facing role oversees the project team to meet their objectives and to ensure that the work performed for any UGL client is successfully delivered and seen to be the finest in the industry. Customer relations are an essential key responsibility with an emphasis on development of sound business relationships. · Working closely with and under minimal guidance from the GM Utilities and Transmission , this customer focused role is responsible for planning, executing and finalising projects for delivery to clients. A key responsibility is in managing project teams to accurately and timely deliver projects according to schedule, budget and scope. The role will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. · This position has a focus on acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members, ensuring that customer needs are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner whilst ensuring a safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance and sound business practices such as commercial, compliance, procurement, human resources and financials. · The Project Director will develop and maintain professional relationships with all Key Stakeholders throughout the UGL Business Units and with external providers. What are we looking for you to bring to the team: · You will have a formal project management accreditation equivalent to Australian Institute Project Management (AIPM), PMBOK, Diploma, PMP or equivalent. · Minimum 15 years Project Management (or similar senior level) experience, from within Power or general Industrial and/or Infrastructure industries (any power/High voltage substation and transmission line experience would be highly desirable). · Experience in estimation costing for projects and working to a budget. · You will have a high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create, read, and interpret budgets, financial statements and analyse variance reports.
