OVERVIEW

Our client, a respected leader in the construction and infrastructure sector, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-driven Project Director in Northern Ontario.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Project Director role is ideally suited for a seasoned professional with a background in heavy civil or mining projects. Directing project execution, the successful candidate will ensure all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, keeping a strong client relationship at the forefront.
This position is based at a remote camp and requires a 4x3 rotation schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, demonstrating a successful track record of project delivery.
  • Relevant post secondary education such as Civil Engineering
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies including planning, scheduling, budgeting, team management, safety compliance, quality control, and risk management.
  • Experience managing projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to effectively lead project teams through all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects concurrently.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for project execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive oversight of all project activities from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, senior management, contractors, and regulatory agencies, managing relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project performance and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project objectives.
  • Implement robust quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project finances, including budget development, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting, to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Provide strong leadership to project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment, and promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear communication channels and reporting mechanisms to keep stakeholders informed of project progress, issues, and resolutions in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and permits governing project activities, maintaining a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Prioritize client satisfaction and loyalty by delivering high-quality, value-added solutions that exceed client expectations and contribute to long-term client relationships and repeat business opportunities.
  • Invest in the professional development of project team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities to enhance their skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
