Description:

We are looking for a Project Electrical Engineer to support the Senior Engineers to develop earthing and lightning protection designs and evaluation capacity for a wide range of installations to ensure the safety of workers and members of the public. Undertaking site testing to feed into the design of projects. Managing elements of projects and mentoring graduate and junior engineers.
You will be based in Caerphilly, South Wales. The role will involve working away from home at locations throughout the UK.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A good degree in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working on HV electricity networks and ideally on earthing systems.
  • You should also be fully conversant with the usual Microsoft Office products and CAD experience would be advantageous.
  • Training in this specialist area will be provided.
  • As the Company develops and grows you will have the opportunity to develop your role and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing earthing (and ideally lightning protection) designs across a range of different project types
  • Work alongside our experienced lead and senior Engineers
  • Keep up to date with National, international and client specific standards and requirements
  • Producing EMF and AC interference studies for new and existing power transmission projects
  • Producing Impressed Voltage studies to advise on safe working practices for construction projects on or near HV equipment
  • Producing 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD
  • Performing site testing such as soil resistivity and earth impedance measurements
