Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Electrification of transport is a key pillar of ESB’s Net Zero 2040 Strategy – reducing the carbon impact from transport and improving air-quality while growing our business. ESB owns and operates the publicly available Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network on the island of Ireland and are currently upgrading and expanding the ROI network and the NI infrastructure.
ESB is also expanding our EV charging network in Britain – with rapid-charging sites deployed to date in London, Birmingham and Coventry and a project pipeline for future city-wide projects and an anticipated portfolio of privately owned sites across the UK. ESB ecars’ strategy, consistent with our role as a pioneer in Electromobility and our ambition to capture value from the global trend in electrification of transport, is to continue to expand our EV charging infrastructure network. ecars 2030 strategy in line with ESB’s Net Zero 2040 strategy calls for increasing our EV charger numbers across ROI and GB.
ESB ecars Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for all aspects of the delivery of new EV charging infrastructure from design to commissioning and handover to the ecars Asset Management.
The Project Manager will lead the delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects across multiple client sites. This includes managing site assessments, coordinating contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of EV charging projects, including enabling works, feasibility assessments, and pre-commissioning.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, KPIs, and ensure compliance with technical standards, regulations, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare site designs, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to support safe and efficient delivery.
  • Manage contractors and liaise with local authorities, clients, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Develop and enforce Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental documentation; conduct audits, ensure safe work practices, and drive sustainability.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports; support procurement activities and collaborate with ESB’s procurement team.
  • Capture lessons learned and implementation of process improvements to enhance future project delivery.
