Description

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Engineer on behalf of a rapidly growing municipality in Squamish. This is a rare chance to combine technical expertise with leadership and community impact while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of one of BC’s most desirable regions.
This isn’t your typical engineering role — it offers the opportunity to shape community growth, influence sustainable infrastructure planning, and work across a variety of land development and municipal projects, all within a supportive hybrid environment. If you’re looking to step into a senior role where your work directly impacts how a community develops, this is it.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration with EGBC).
  • 5–10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, ideally with exposure to land development and municipal infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of municipal bylaws, standards, and development processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous mentorship or leadership experience is considered a strong asset
Responsibilities
  • Lead the review of subdivision, rezoning, and development permit applications to ensure alignment with municipal engineering standards.
  • Provide engineering input on infrastructure design, including roads, utilities, stormwater, and green infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, consultants, contractors, and internal departments to advance complex projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Conduct field inspections and site visits to monitor construction progress and compliance.
  • Support long-term municipal planning initiatives, with a focus on climate resiliency and sustainable development.
