KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role you will be:

• Taking over of a project / vessel from the DCVe Operations team and handling of after delivery projects according to contract and agreements;
• Introducing the DCVe Warranty process and procedures to customers;
• Handling warranty matters in direct contact with customer representatives;
• Purchasing the necessary products and services from third parties, including selecting quotations and conditions;
• Monitoring of progress with regard to budget, quality and planning;
• Supervising large scale repairs;
• Pro-actively sharing feedback within DCVe as well as newbuilding yards improving the DCVe products (incl. Standardization);
• Determining and/or approving additional and reduced work;
• Drawing up (progress) reports and final evaluations;
• Visiting clients and vessels under warranty.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role you bring:

• A MBO+ or HBO degree or thinking level in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
• Approximately 5 years of working experience in a similar role as Project Engineer in the maritime sector, experience as Superintendent or as a Seafarer;
• Experience in independently purchasing products and services;
• Good communication skills in both Dutch and English;
• Occasional travelling is part of this role.

THE ROLE

As Project Engineer Aftersales and Services you take care of the planning, preparation, coordination and execution of projects with regard to the handling of warranty claims related to Damen Cargo Vessels (DCVe) projects (after delivery service, possible malfunction, , repair and maintenance) of clients in such a way that the quality requirements, delivery reliability and profitability of the department are met.
In this role you work closely with a small Aftersales and Services team within Damen Cargo Vessels and you are in close contact with all other disciplines within the Damen Cargo Vessels team and the Damen Services division in Gorinchem.
