About the role Project Engineer The Project Engineer leads engineering design and technical sign-off for a diverse variety of energy solution projects to deliver against operational objectives and project deadlines. They assist in mentoring junior members of the Engineering team and help to incorporate new innovations and best practice into the AGL design standards and ways of working. What you will be doing: Design and develop safe Energy Solutions—including Solar PV and Energy Storage systems—in alignment with industry regulations and WHS standards, ensuring timely delivery for successful project execution. Provide engineering concept design and solution as part the sales and tendering process. Specify project bill of materials, select suppliers and components, perform necessary design calculations to ensure compliance and safety, create design solution budget estimates, and coordinate with the Drafting team to produce drawings that meet project delivery deadlines. Support Project Delivery by resolving technical issues, updating designs, and coordinating with PMs, Installers, and Customers. Provide technical assessment and input required for network approvals. Support onsite commissioning and handover. Provide quality assurance during installation and installer defect rectification. Continuous improvement, focusing on operational processes and procedures to increase design accuracy, reduce installation costs and drive product innovation Conduct proactive HSE activities (e.g. field audits, conversations) and ensure timely close-out of corrective actions from incidents or HSE findings What we would like to see you bring: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Photovoltaic Engineering Clean Energy Council Grid Connect PV Design Accreditation, Grid Connect Storage Design Accreditation (advantageous) Tenured experience in the PV Solar industry, experience in design and construction of rooftop solar systems up to 1MWp Knowledge and experience with relevant design and engineering software (solar modelling & electrical component specification software) Good interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills, and excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) What’s in It for You?
