Description
The Fulton Hogan Life Life at Fulton Hogan is about making the most of the opportunities, taking responsibility, having a crack, being accountable and making it happen. We live by our REAL values – Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, Leadership – and we demonstrate these through the good work we do, every day, as one team. At Fulton Hogan, we’re all about Good Work. Good Work is serious work, not so serious people – we’re solving real problems and building things that matter, but we don’t need a stiff corporate vibe to do it. We knuckle down when it counts, then share the wins together. Good Work means high expectations, low ego – you’ll be trusted with real responsibility, given honest feedback, and backed to grow. We care about how we get the job done, not just the outcome. About the role We’re kicking off Fulton Hogan’s first-ever Wind Farm project, and we’re looking for a proven Project Engineer to help get this Amberley-based Wind Farm out of the ground and running smoothly. You’ll come in ahead of main site works (ideally July/August) to help plan, coordinate and set the project up for success, then play a key role on site once construction ramps up from September through to around June next year. This isn’t a step-up or “learn on the job” opportunity – we’re after someone already operating confidently at Project Engineer level, who’s comfortable owning a big chunk of site-based responsibility and making good calls when it counts. Wind farm experience would be a bonus, but we’re especially interested in people with strong logistics management and structural/bridge background who are keen to tackle something new, backed by a supportive team. Key role responsibilities You’ll be trusted to: Lead day-to-day engineering delivery on site, with a strong focus on planning and sequencing. Own logistics management, especially around large concrete pours and critical-path activities. Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers to keep works on track and to spec. Oversee structural elements of the project (e.g. foundations, structural concrete, temporary works). Monitor quality, safety and environmental performance, and drive prompt corrective actions. Work closely with the Project Manager and wider team on programming, resourcing and cost control. Prepare and review documentation including ITPs, QA records, as-builts and associated reporting. Help set up systems and ways of working that can be carried forward into future projects. You’ll bring: Proven experience already operating at Project Engineer level on civil infrastructure projects. Strong logistics and coordination skills, ideally with exposure to large or complex concrete works. Structural or bridge experience (e.g. bridges, motorway overpasses or similar) that you’re keen to apply in a wind farm setting. Comfortable with hands-on, outdoor work in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites. A calm, organised approach – relaxed day to day, but switched on and decisive when the pressure comes on. A collaborative, low-ego style – you’re happy to work side by side with the team, not above it. A focus on safety, quality and delivery, with the confidence to speak up and challenge when something’s not right. You’ll likely be based in, or within reasonable reach of, Christchurch. We know Amberley is a decent commute and local housing is tight, so we’ll work with you to find a practical rhythm that supports both performance and balance. Good Work equals Good Benefits At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. You’ll have access to: Company Vehicle KiwiSaver employer contributions Fuel discount card Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support Family scholarships Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities Great discounts at a wide range of retailers Medical insurance “an eligibility period applies” Life insurance How to apply If you’re an experienced Project Engineer who’s keen to take on a high-responsibility site role, help deliver Fulton Hogan’s first wind farm project, and then roll into more complex structural work, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now with your CV and a brief cover letter telling us about your most complex logistics/concrete project to date and what you learned from it. We’ll be reviewing applications as they come in and may progress suitable people before the advertised closing date. We are driven by fresh ideas and opportunities. We aim to do more and do better – for our people, our communities and the countries that we work in. As an employer, we know this relationship is a two-way street. We’re always looking for people who are passionate about the work they do. If that’s you, we’d like to invite you to become part of our family and join us in the good work we do.
