YOUR PROFILE – WHAT YOU BRING:

We are looking for an experienced automation engineer with a strong background in PLC systems and industrial communication. The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, M-Bus, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104/101, OPC UA).
  • Several years of experience working with PLCs in industrial environments, preferably B&R automation.
  • Field experience with power generation systems (e.g., PV, wind, battery storage, gas generators, diesel backup) is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of TCP/IP networking (router configuration, network topologies) is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for commissioning and support activities.

Responsibilities

Join our team in delivering cutting-edge microgrid solutions and large-scale energy projects across the globe. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing the automation core of our microgrid projects, including battery energy storage and renewable energy sources. Your key tasks will include:

  • Collaborating with project engineers, suppliers, and customers to define project requirements.
  • Developing new software modules based on project specifications.
  • Acquiring and evaluating communication interfaces for various energy devices (e.g., genset controllers, energy meters, PV inverters, wind turbines).
  • Implementing and integrating communication protocols with these devices.
  • Ensuring seamless integration of automation software with existing customer SCADA systems.
  • Participating in the commissioning of microgrid projects.
  • Providing second-level support to the service team as a subject matter expert on software configuration and troubleshooting.

This role requires willingness to travel for commissioning and support activities.
