THE OPPORTUNITY:

WSP is currently seeking a talented and driven Project Engineer to join our Aviation team within the Transportation Systems business line. Based in the Greater Toronto Region, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on some of Canada’s most important airport infrastructure projects—supporting the planning, design, and construction of airside and landside facilities.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in multidisciplinary teams, helping deliver high-quality solutions across a range of projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield lighting, de-icing facilities, and more. You’ll gain exposure to every stage of project development, from concept through to construction, while contributing technical expertise, collaboration, and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate conceptual, functional, and detailed design phases for airport infrastructure projects
  • Develop and review technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design reports, and presentation materials
  • Collaborate closely with internal design teams, subconsultants, and project managers
  • Liaise with clients and project stakeholders, supporting communication and issue resolution
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes across design deliverables
  • Contribute to proposal preparation, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Analyze project schedules to track milestones and critical path activities
  • Perform field reviews or attend project sites as required to support design or construction activitiesWork on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail, deadlines, and team coordination
