Project Engineer – Kinleith Mill Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Our Industrial team is currently delivering a substantial portfolio of work for one of our key clients at their pulp and paper site in Kinleith. We manage a suite of capital and non-routine maintenance projects through a dedicated onsite team, supported by specialists across our regional offices. We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join this driven, collaborative, and supportive site based team. No two days will be the same - your work will span a variety of engineering and project tasks, providing you with ongoing learning and challenge. In this role, you will: Take responsibility for a range of engineering tasks of increasing scope and complexity, with guidance from senior staff. Apply relevant engineering standards, procedures, and good practice. Use sound theoretical knowledge to analyse, interpret, and progress standard technical matters. Assist in preparing accurate documentation that meets required quality and delivery standards. Work proactively to achieve team and project goals, contributing effectively in meetings and day-to-day activities. Provide quality service to internal and external clients, escalating issues or enquiries appropriately. Communicate positively and effectively with team members, managers, and clients - keeping people well informed on progress and timelines. Comply with all company HSE systems and procedures, meeting the documented responsibilities of your role. Collaborate with colleagues, sharing workload and supporting others as needed. Ko wai koe | About you You’re a project-focused engineer with experience in industrial or consulting environments. You communicate with confidence, build trust quickly, and enjoy coordinating people, tasks, and technical outcomes. You’re organised, curious, and committed to delivering high-quality work. Ideally, you will bring: Progress toward engineering registration or certification Experience in a consulting or industrial project setting A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Project management qualification and/or demonstrated project management experience Experience in pulp and paper—or supporting shutdown projects—is a bonus, but not essential. What matters most is your customer focus, problem solving mindset, and willingness to take ownership.
