Description:
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with expertise in below-ground pipeline systems to support the successful delivery of pipeline engineering projects. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, procurement, and construction of pipeline systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.
KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Solid understanding of pipeline engineering, including design, construction, and installation of below-ground pipeline systems.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing technical specifications for pipeline systems, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with pipeline alignment, crossing engineering, and routing analysis processes.
- Strong technical background with the ability to assist in coordinating engineering activities across multiple disciplines.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Familiarity with CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, B31.8 codes, and relevant industry standards.
- Solid understanding of safety and quality systems, with a commitment to ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and policies.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil, or related field) with a focus on pipeline systems or related engineering discipline.
- 5-10 years of experience in pipeline engineering, with a focus on below-ground pipelines.
- Knowledge and experience in the midstream/ downstream oil and gas sector, particularly within Western Canada.
- Familiarity with CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, B31.8 codes, and relevant pipeline design standards and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Experience in project engineering, including support for scope management, budgeting, and scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of pipeline engineering scope for assigned projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery within budget constraints. Assist the Project Manager with scope and change management activities.
- Contribute to the preparation, review, and sealing of pipeline route & alignment and engineered crossing drawings.
- Participate in the pipeline routing process and assist in the review of pipeline routing analysis reports.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and equipment specifications for pipeline systems, including Design Basis Memoranda.
- Support the review and evaluation of technical bid submissions for materials, equipment, and services.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to review pipeline hydraulic studies and related pipeline schematics.
- Assist in coordinating the activities of the pipeline engineering team, ensuring smooth communication and integration with other project disciplines.
- Support the development of engineering work scopes, cost estimates, and project risk assessments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with project procedures, corporate quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist in achieving the quality in all aspects of engineering and related documents.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff in the pipeline discipline.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure all project milestones are met, and any potential issues are promptly addressed.
