FIELD PROJECT ENGINEER (MEMPHIS)

Berry Construction Company, a leading General Contractor in the Eastern U.S., is actively seeking a qualified Project Engineer. A Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects from start to finish. They work closely with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer or similar role
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards
  • Ability to identify, investigate and quantify onsite issues, with corresponding resolutions and consequences.
  • Willingness to relocate with assigned jobs.
  • Night and weekend work may be required.
  • Must be able to list up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, with the ability to learn specific web-based software applications.

Responsibilities
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Read, understand, and execute requirements within project specifications.
  • Review and understand executed subcontract agreements.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers and other team members to ensure project success.
  • Participate in in Preconstruction meetings as well as quality inspections of subcontractor work.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Review submittals & shop drawings with Superintendents.
  • Assist in weekly project schedule updates.
  • Participate in weekly Trade Partner Coordination meetings as well as any other meetings as needed.
  • Identify and mitigate safety and SWPPP issues.
  • Expedite RFI’s and maintain the RFI log.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
