Job Description Project Engineer – CAE Crash Language Skills Very fluent in English and Japanese (written and verbal) About the Role We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our Body Performance team, specializing in CAE crash simulation and analysis. In this role, you will execute advanced CAE activities and integration projects, serving as a technical representative of Applus+ IDIADA to our external clients. Location India, Spain, or Japan Purpose As a Project Engineer – CAE Crash, you will be responsible for executing sophisticated crash simulations across various load cases to meet regulatory and consumer test requirements for global markets including the US, Europe, and China. You will work collaboratively with client companies and IDIADA's worldwide business units to develop high-fidelity CAE models, using simulation results to drive the development of structural concepts and passive safety equipment while providing engineering solutions to meet vehicle performance targets. Key Responsibilities CAE Simulation & Analysis Execute crash simulations for multiple scenarios including: Crashworthiness analysis Occupant protection systems Pedestrian protection assessment Create and manage finite element (FE) models to ensure accuracy and reliability Analyze simulation results and develop effective countermeasures Develop and refine simulation methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency Client Engagement & Project Delivery Serve as the primary technical contact for clients regarding ongoing projects Guarantee the achievement of external client technical requirements Deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders Prepare economic quotations and maintain strong client relationships Work on-site at customer premises when required to promote services and expand team capabilities Collaboration & Business Development Collaborate with cross-functional teams across IDIADA's global business units Contribute to the expansion of the Body Performance team Support business development initiatives through technical excellence Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering Experience Proven experience in a similar position focused on passive safety simulation Strong expertise in LS-DYNA or other CAE simulation tools Proficiency in CAE pre/post-processing software: ANSA/META Working knowledge of Nastran and/or Abaqus is advantageous Technical Competencies Knowledge of crashworthiness and passive safety principles Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex simulation data Experience with FE model creation and management Professional Attributes Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong team player with collaborative mindset Dynamic, proactive, and self-motivated High level of initiative and problem-solving capability Willingness to travel internationally as required What We Offer Opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive safety projects Collaboration with global teams and leading automotive manufacturers Exposure to diverse international markets and regulatory frameworks Professional development in advanced CAE technologies Dynamic and innovative work environment About Applus+ IDIADA Applus+ IDIADA is a global leader in automotive engineering, providing comprehensive design, testing, engineering, and homologation services to the automotive industry worldwide.
